Traffic and transport.

This section of the website is still being prepared, but the details and maps of the compulsory purchase of land for part of the proposed road have been published, so we have made them available below.

Note that these orders only refer to land in the dog-leg section at the southern ends of what is to be the M55 to Heyhouses link road

Compulsory Purchase Order 2008

Compulsory Purchase Order

Compulsory Purchase Order Map

A Compulsory Purchase Order may be used by Councils when they and the current landowners are unable to reach an agreed price or terms for land that is required for public works such as roads or redevelopment.

It allows a Council (in this case Lancashire County Council) to acquire the land it needs under the Highways Act 1980.

The order consists of a preamble setting out the powers and description, followed by tables of plots of land affected and the names of the landowner, any lessees, tenants and occupiers.

The Order relates to a map showing the location of the plots of land

Copies of the Order and the Map can be downloaded in PDF (Order) and JPG (Map) format. Click the link or the images to download

Side Roads Order 2008

Side Roads Order

Side Roads Order

The Side Roads Order gives the County Council authority to do various works such as constructing new sections of highway, stopping up part of others, improving lengths of highway, changing or creating means of access etc.

Please note that page 4 of the Order is missing from this copy. The order is available for inspection at Lancashire County Council (Christ Church Foyer) and Fylde Borough Council (One Stop Shop).

The Compulsory Purchase Order has a closing date for objections of  16 October, whilst the Side Roads Order has a closing date of 6 November. Further details regarding objections are available from Lancashire County Council.
